Building Page Rank - The PR Of It All

‘Page rank’ is based on intricate and complicated algorithms that determine your site’s importance and authority. Why is this important? Well, building PR ups your chances to be scored by a search engine like Google; using your competitive key words. Also, having higher ranking pages aids you by making you and your website available to a massive community of people needing your services, products or advice. Keep in mind you are playing in a mine field and every mine waits in the sand to be stepped on only to blow you to pieces if you do not have the right moves. Building page rank is one of those moves!

A Page Rank (PR) thing

In order to be unique on the internet, which is home to billions of citizens, page rank is a must especially if you intend for your website to grow and prosper. The amount of quality, not quantity, of the incoming links to your site is the defining difference when building page rank. The page rank of your site will be higher with more valuable links to your site. Basically building page rank is increasing the amount of quality links pointing to your website.

If you seek higher page rank then you should aim towards quality links to your site. Popping out link after link to unrelated pages will not gain you PR. Actually, search engines like Google spot this quickly and penalize websites who put out too many unrelated links to their site too fast.

When building back links it is important to link to and from websites that also have high PR; for this can increase the rank of your pages. Although Google tries to give us the latest up to date ranks they have, this does not mean that one site is less valuable than another. Or better yet the quality is lower. It takes time to build page rank and if the sites confer to yours then by all means link up.

The quality of internal linking also determines the builing of page rank, however external linking is the most influential factor. Due to the fact that you are not able to force other websites to link yours this part leaves you with the least control, especially if they already have a high PR. You must learn the correct way, when it comes to external linking, to find and request websites to link sites when a relevance is present between your site and theirs. It is all about getting the PR of it, and you can always hire someone to do it for you if it seems too complicated.
